Statement from India: "What you did was wrong and illegal, and we we won't stand for it. No, really, we won't. We're serious. We want you to apologize."
USA: "No. We're going to put your consul in jail, make sure her maid and the maid's family escape trial for various criminal cases against them in India, and also not apologize. At all. You can figure out how to deal with that yourselves."
New Statement from India (just earlier today): "Okay. You win, and sorry for making a big deal out of it. What right do we have to complain about discrimination, I mean, we're just Indians right? By the way, thanks a lot for being such a good friend to India, we really appreciate everything you do for us."
